To restore, upgrade and maintain a vintage airplane such as the Spartan Executive, it takes a knowledgable and skilled aviation advisor to keep you moving in the right direction. Even more important is to know someone who shows up at the hangar every morning to assist with whatever phase of the project that is being worked on. When that person is your best friend and he also happens to be an A&P and IA, great things can happen. I have been fortunate to have Lynn Ford with me every step of the way since I decided to acquire a Spartan. When I am at events like Oshkosh or Blakesburg, he can usually be found sitting on a chair in front of the Spartan, just as you see in the picture below.
